The President of the People's National Party, the Most Hon Portia Simpson Miller and Officers of the Party after a meeting last night, are calling on all supporters of the Party to respect the democratic prerogative of those Members of Parliament who supported Cde Peter Phillips in the recent concluded leadership election and to desist from activities that are bringing the Party into disrepute.
Mrs. Simpson Miller said "The elections are now behind us and the delegates have spoken. I am appealing to all comrades to discontinue demonstrations and other activities that are harmful to building an atmosphere of unity and harmony in the Party." The Party President said she remains devoted to an inclusive form of leadership which will embrace the contributions of all comrades who are committed to the building of the Party. The Party Leader said it is her stated intention to meet with all comrades in their constituencies at the earliest possible opportunity. |
