People’s National Party Deputy Campaign Manager, Paul Burke, has chided Bruce Golding for failing to “stick to the course” when he ran away from the Jamaica Labour Party.
Party President Portia Simpson Miller is said to have now won this heat as she has stuck to the course throughout for the victorious dash ahead to the finish line with Golding trailing way behind. Addressing a mass meeting in Lionel Town, Mr. Burke told hundreds of supporters and well-wishers that the Party President will not be changing course as she has been telling the nation. He reminded comrades that the course “is all about a better quality of life which the PNP committed itself to the Jamaican people in its 2002 manifesto.” Golding had not stayed where he fled but returned to the JLP. Comrade Burke said however that the PNP which now holding steadfast to the course was making sure that reform was achieved in the justice system after consultations. The Party had shown that renewing the justice system “is to stick to the course”, Comrade Burke said. This course is all about the better quality of life which the PNP committed itself to the Jamaican people in its 2002 manifesto, he said. This entire exercise of sticking to and steering the course need quality leadership which Party President Portia Simpson Miller exhibits for all to see, Comrade Burke said, noting that she has a clean character. This Party President is a woman of high esteem who is never guilty of gutter politics which will allow her to hang her head in shame, says Comrade Burke. “I can put my head on the block that my leader never send gun to create no violence. Those who live in glass house must not throw stones,” he said. Comrade Burke gave Party President Portia Simpson Miller high marks for being the only one capable of leading the country to greater success given her humble background, sincerity of heart and the passion to greatly serve her people with pride, joy and honour. The Prime Minister is not fearful to recall her humble upbringing, he said. He said that the vibes for Prime Minister Simpson Miller was right but comrades must be aware that the work must be done to go for every single PNP voter on election day as they take the task seriously to make sure of electoral victory. |
