The Party's Secretariat received the last set of names from various groups Wednesday evening.
Party
officials will spend much of Thursday morning supervising the
compilation of the delegates list which is to be sent to the Electoral
Office of Jamaica.
PNP Deputy General-Secretary Maureen Webber told RJR News that an inventory is also being done of the forms received.
The
Party expects that just under 4,000 delegates will cast ballots during
the special conference scheduled for Saturday February 25.
In the meantime, the final submission of delegates names was not without incident.
It's reported that several persons aligned to Dr. Peter Phillip's Solid As A Rock team verbally abused Miss Webber.
They also took issue with the creation of another reception area at the PNP Secretariat for individuals to present forms.
The verbal attack lasted for 90 minutes and the police had to be called in to provide security for Miss Webber and volunteers who were processing forms.
Miss Webber confirmed that there was an incident.
She says a report will be sent to the Party's Internal Affairs Committee.
